ASEAN-Republic of KOREA Commemorative Summit was held on December 11-12 in BEXCO. Korea Customs Service (KCS) and CUPIA participated in the event for marketing Korea Customs Clearance System, UNI-PASS.
The exhibition booth of the Korea Customs Service received many positive response from ASEAN participant countries, were simulations on the business process of the integrated management for sea cargo from entry to release, and the simulation on the tracking of high risk sea cargo by applying an electronic seal (e-Seal) were shown.
Especially, representatives from the ASEAN countries including Indonesia showed interest on UNI-PASS, the world’s well known best practice for e-clearance system, via the simulation of cargo tracking system. Through this event, it was proved that UNI-PASS system is becoming trend through the world.
On the other hand, most of ASEAN countries have developed maritime trade since they are near from the sea and they are planing to implement Single Window system so that they showed interest on UNI-PASS since it is interfaced with airlines, shipping agencies, bank, and LPCO agencies.
